Basel International Girl Scout Brownies
We have 16 places for Brownies in 2013/14 for girls aged 7 or 8 (Grades 2 - 3) on 1st September 2013 open to girls from all communities. We meet in a nurturing, inclusive environment where the focus is on learning about each other, making friends, learning how to work together, take responsibility and develop independence. Our Brownies go on trips, learn about nature and science, and explore the arts and their communities. Brownies also earn Try It badges as they work through the programme and receive participation patches for different activities. Brownies also get the chance to work with older girls from the Juniors or Cadettes, an experience which provides role models and which is also great fun!
Discover, Connect, Take Action
We engage our Brownies in a range of activities to give them a chance to try out new things and develop new skills in a safe, collaborative environment. Through the Journey book girls learn about the world around them and how they can impact it as individuals and collectively. At this age we aim to channel the girls' clear enthusiasm to contribute to making the world a better place in ways that they can relate to. Examples of activities include treasure hunts, Spring Hike, a play exploring 100 Years of Girl Scouts, country dancing, puppet making, Winter camp, ice skating and much much more!
